What are Pre paid credit cards?

After applying for a credit card some people are rejected. This happens because of poor credit history. The major credit cards are used to make hotel, airline, car rental reservations etc, so the problem with poor credit history arises over here. Credit cards are also required when you are placing an order online or over the phone.

This seems to be hinting that a person with bad credit can't buy all these things? It is not so if the person has a prepaid credit card. A prepaid credit card is an account that is opened by depositing money into that account. This is similar to opening a savings bank or checking bank account by making a deposit before hand.

Once the money is deposited in this account you are issued a pre paid credit card that can be used anywhere as a normal credit card would be. The best thing about this card is that you can charge whatever you want to on this but you will not be in debt. This is because you can charge as much as you have in the account and don't have to pay the company later.

There are no bills or principal deposits involved over here the procedure of usage is similar to a debit card with a checking account. However there does need to be some catch right? Here it is that you have to pay a fee to set up an account and also every time you make a deposit in the account you will have to pay an additional fee.

However for people with a bad credit record the benefits of the pre paid credit card are definitely more than the risks that it involves. But it is to be remembered that many companies don't like to do business with pre paid credit card holders and so may be the subscription you had wanted to pay for online might not accept your card at all.

But if you are frustrated that owing to your bad credit you can't get a credit card then go in for the pre paid one which will give you most of the services of the normal credit card.
